Falling Fee
|
Conservative led Tendring District Council in Essex plans to extend its Careline service, a plan which helps around 3,000 pensioners live independently at home. The proposal includes the introduction of an additional £25.92 annual charge onto the existing monthly £21.60 fee for users in the event that they fall over and need help getting back to their feet.
Fucking hell, this austerity lark really is hitting home, next they'll be giving MP's a pay rise........ Oh..

How about commenting on the ' Nonce Janner dead' thread, Ray?
Or is that too much to expect because the filthy nonce was Labour?

terry-h, I'd rather point out the sheer nastiness and incompetence of the current Tory Givernmet than waste time on dead nonces, unless you'd like to have a conversation about Thatchers best friend Jimmy Savile? Or maybe Harvey Procter, the Tory MP who thinks its ok to spank underage boys?

Actually, Procter is still alive, you may have heard him recently trying to justify his criminal act.....

Why not condemn all acts that you think are reprehensible rather than just half of them?

I'll stick to condemning those who have been found guilty if you don't mind.

An additional contribution amounting to less than 50p per week to maintain a vital service used by a relatively small number of people in a bid to maximise available public funding to retain other services used by many more people. That's about it, right?
Perhaps if Labour hadn't royally fucked up public spending this type of measure would not be necessary?
Oh, and MPs from all parties vote themselves a pay rise. If Labour MPs and their allies took their noses out of the trough the pay rises wouldn't be approved.
Maybe you should read up a bit on how politics work before talking bollocks?

I don't think I've ever seen you condemn a guilty labour mp.
As I'm sure you know there have been quite a few over the years.

If people want to use local government services they should expect to pay for them, and if you don't use them, expect to pay as well.

I live In Tendring and feel that this is an absolute Insult to those concerned IMO it should be a service paid for via rates anyway. They're have also decided not to Issue refuse bags which I thought was Included in the rates that I pay. We will purchase alternative bags but I'm sure there will be many that will not ! so we can expect shit everywhere !!!

OP is the reason for charges like this because he wants to let the economic migrants in to drain resources.

Sadly gaunt I don't find you remotely amusing.
Ted, things like this are annoying I agree but local authorities are under more pressure, and more scrutiny, than they've ever been and rightly so. They've been pissing away our money for too long.
They are having to make cuts and bin bags is a symptom. It may seem like a small thing but over a council the size of Tendring it's probably a couple of hundred thousand a year in costs saved, that's money that they need for other things because they can no longer just put their hands out to central government for more or put up council tax at will.
Local authorities are currently in a transition period where they are having to learn to effectively manage a budget for the first time in decades (possibly ever). Until they can its these little things that will suffer. They'll eventually realise that they are spending twice as much clearing up rubbish and you'll get you bin bags back.
